Two Ravens Forge is a partnership between two artist blacksmiths - Steve Rook FWCB who comes from a traditional crafts background and who is a silver medal holder with the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths and Elspeth Bennie who is a fine art graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and a practicing sculptor. The 30 years experience each of them brings to the business gives Two Ravens Forge the capabilities to produce well designed and highly crafted pieces with high attention to detail and the work showcased on the website shows both historic work done as individuals and more recent collaborative pieces. Steve was awarded the Tonypandy Cup by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in 2020 for his outstanding work on the balconies in Carter Lane in the City of London.

Our work centres on the making of commissioned work for individuals and public art projects. We focus on the processes of hot forging steel, often taking inspiration from the natural world. Whilst our philosophy is rooted in the use of traditional methods and processes we prefer to create from a contemporary viewpoint as this gives us the freedom tor creative expression which brings life and energy to the work,

High quality workmanship with a passion for detail gives the work energy and integrity, a design led approach means the piece can be integrated well with its surroundings at both an aesthetic and practical level.

The commissioning process is straightforward: First contact is made and is followed by a discussion with the client on their requirements. a site visit and client meeting is an essential part of the creative process and is used to get a feel for the location, practical requirements and budget. Initial designs are drawn up and reviewed with final designs approved for start of work. The client is invited to visit the workshop at any point during manufacture.

We work throughout the UK.
